The Clinical Transformation Group is mapping the clinical vision for the New Dunedin Hospital.

Models of care change rapidly within health, and the Clinical Transformation Group (CTG) guides planning decisions for the new hospital. It provides clinical governance, expertise and capability in planning for potential developments or shifts in patient care as the design process continues.

The CTG represents hundreds of Te Whatu Ora Southern doctors, nurses, midwives, allied health staff, technicians and clinical administrators, as well as community representatives. Design and user consultation for the new hospital has been underway for a number of years and around 500 people have been involved in the consultation process since 2017, across approximately 50 groups.

The Clinical Transformation Group is led by:

  • Dr Sheila Barnett (Chair) – Senior Anaesthetic Doctor, Dunedin Hospital
  • Professor Patrick Manning (Deputy Chair) – Clinical Professor of Medicine; Consultant Endocrinologist; Director, Endocrinology Research Group

This video was recorded some years ago and features Dr David Perez, former chairman of the Clinical Leadership Group (which pre-dated the Clinical Transformation Group), explaining the group's work at that time.
